Injection Molded Nylon Receptacle Plates for the Electronics Industry
A customer in the electronics industry contacted KRC Custom Manufacturing Inc. to perform injection molding of custom receptacle plates, incorporating in parts utilized across a range of industries. Our 60 ton Demag injection molding machine was utilized to precision mold the 33% glass filled heat stabilized black nylon resin “Zytel 70G33HS1L BK031”. We have the experience to effectively use this engineered thermoplastic material, which must be dried for 2 to 4 hours at 180° before starting the molding process. A four (4) cavity mold was employed, with the male receptacle plate measuring 42.25mm x 30.5mm x 15.25mm, and the female receptacle plate being 39.75mm x 39.35mm x 18.55mm. Tolerances of ± 0.05mm were held throughout manufacturing.
Turnaround time for this process is typically less than a week, with yearly production volumes of 2000 to 3000 female units, and 1000 to 3000 male units. To verify quality and accuracy, thorough in process and post fabrication dimensional inspections and quality checks were carried out including analysis for flash, glass, underfill, and burn marks. KRC Custom Manufacturing Inc. is a producer of high quality injection molded parts, welcoming projects of all sizes.
